Dark morning dawns and
The Crescent Moon Rising
Arrives at the station
At its appointed time and place

On the platform
An old woman stands with
Waiting expectantly
Their hour has come

There’s nowhere to run and
Nowhere left to hide, it’s
Board this train or perish and
Each soul must now decide

The woman prays for courage
Afraid, can she resist
The urgent call of “All ah-boaarrrrdd!!!”
Somehow she must persist

She knows another train is coming
The Bright and Morning Star
She prays it doesn’t tarry now
She prays it isn’t far

The cold wind’s blowing hard and
The hour’s getting late
There’s apprehension all around
Grave danger at the boarding gate

She checks her lamp oil
One more time, her
Ticket to Redemption
She looks up to the hills in hope
She shuts her eyes and waits

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:28)

”Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” (Revelation 3:11)

Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” (Matthew 24: 4-5)

  1. I have a soft spot for poetry, you are really good! Thank-you for following my blog! I love your work and sometimes when I comment it comes out as a poem hope you do not mind? Yes I shall be following your blog your poems are to much of a blessing to miss. May the verses of Yeshua’s love cascade out of you and onto the page, Amen. James
